u know that phrase... take time to smell the flowers..... that is so true.... I like to think that I do this... at the very least some of the time
about a week or so ago.... driving along in my car... it was a sunny day... which if u r a Haligonian... u will agree have been few and far between.... a glorious sunny day. Had the windows down, the wind blowing my hair in my face and everywhere and Madonna's Music was loudly blasting out of my 12 speakers! I had my arm dangerously dangling out the window to feel the sun while it lasted and was driving with the other hand singing my heart out! was a day to savour!
friday night, my hubby picked up my kids and I went and got my nails done! ahhhhh! then I had my brows shaped... which was a first for me ladies... seriously... I was a brow virgin... and as I did not want my "me" time to end.... I went to a movie my myself... everyone always asks... how can u do that? I don't get that! if you go with friends, which I do... u r sitting there watching the show not socializing so what is the diff if you r alone? I was sooooo excited! I love my kids so much but to see a show straight through without having to take Lil D to the bathroom or clean a spill or negotiate snacks etc.... ahhhhhhhh! me, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, a dark theater and a chocolate bar all to myself.... divine!
yesterday, it was pouring down rain... torrential rain! so we put on our raincoats, rainboots and went for a walk! puddle splashing and all! was great fun! and when the rain stopped (which I will say pissed us off a great deal!) we tapped on the trees to get it to rain on us! Then we examined slugs and worms (gross!) but the kids liked it so I tried not to shudder in front of them.
Seek joy, find joy and know that while the moment is there... it is joy for it comes and it goes! and when the drudgery resumes... u can pull the memory out and sigh!
